Yesterbook Privacy Policy
We keep your journal on your devices and in your own private iCloud database whenever possible, and explain each optional permission in plain language.

1. Scope and controller
This policy applies to the Yesterbook iOS and iPadOS application and its directly related product pages, provided by Guangzhou Midao Technology Co., Ltd. (“Midao,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are the operator responsible for the limited personal-data processing described here.
Yesterbook is a local-first private journal. You can use its core writing features without creating an account or providing a phone number or email address. Journal text, photos, moods, places, and weather are created or selected by you. Other than the Apple iCloud sync you choose to use, we do not operate a backend that receives your journal content.
2. Data Yesterbook processes
“Processing” below includes reading, storing, displaying, searching, or deleting data on your device. It does not necessarily mean that Midao collects the data on its own servers.

3. What we do not do
Yesterbook contains no advertising or analytics SDKs, does not access an advertising identifier, does not track you across apps, does not sell personal data, and does not use your journal for targeted advertising or profiling. Core features do not require an account, phone number, contacts, microphone, camera, or full photo-library permission.
Your journal may contain health, location, family, or other sensitive information. You decide what to record. The app processes it only as needed for the journal features you choose, on your device and in your private iCloud database.
4. Optional system permissions
You may decline a permission or revoke it later in system settings. Declining an optional permission does not block core writing features that do not depend on it.
- Location: When you begin a current-day entry and default location precision is not None, Yesterbook asks once for While Using the App location to suggest a place and weather. You can decline, remove the place, or set the default to None. The app does not request continuous background location.
- Photos: Apple’s system photo picker gives Yesterbook only the items you choose, not access to browse your full library.
- Notifications: Requested only when you enable reminders, for local writing and pre-seal notifications.
- Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode: Used only after you enable App Lock. The system returns only whether authentication succeeded.
5. iCloud and Apple services
When your device is signed in to iCloud and permits Yesterbook to use it, SwiftData and CloudKit can sync journal text, photos, places, weather, and related records to your CloudKit private database. Apple states that a private database is accessible only to its user by default and its content is not visible in the developer portal. It counts against your iCloud storage quota.
Core Location, MapKit, and WeatherKit may process coordinates or queries needed for location, place search, reverse geocoding, maps, and automatic weather. Apple’s handling, storage locations, and international transfers depend on your Apple Account region, device settings, and Apple’s terms. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
You can disable Yesterbook’s iCloud access in system settings. New data will then remain on the current device; previously synced data remains subject to Apple’s iCloud management controls.
6. Retention, deletion, and backups
Journal data remains until you delete it. Entries moved to Trash are retained for 30 days by default and can be restored during that period. When the period ends or you choose permanent destruction, the app deletes the entry text, annotations, and photos and syncs the deletion through private iCloud when enabled. Offline devices must reconnect to receive it.
Uninstalling the app generally removes local app data from that device, but may not delete data already synced to iCloud, included in system backups, or held by another offline device. Use in-app deletion together with Apple’s iCloud management controls when necessary. Apple may retain security backups or required logs under its own terms.
We keep support emails only as long as needed to respond, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. They are ordinarily deleted or de-identified within 12 months after a matter closes unless a longer period is legally required. Hosting providers retain technical logs for the shortest period needed for security and operations.
8. Security
Yesterbook uses the system app sandbox, local data protection, optional App Lock, a background privacy shield, and CloudKit private databases to reduce unauthorized access. App Lock depends on Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode configured on your device. No technology is perfectly secure, so protect your device passcode and Apple Account and keep the system and app updated.
9. Your choices and rights
You can view your entries, edit entries before sealing, add notes after sealing, delete entries, and manage location, notifications, photo selection, device authentication, and iCloud in system settings. Because you directly control journal data on your devices and in private iCloud, these controls are normally the fastest way to access, correct, delete, or stop processing it.
To ask about, correct, or delete the limited support or contact data we actually hold, withdraw consent, or submit a complaint, email oneplayer_app@outlook.com with “Yesterbook Privacy Request” in the subject. We may request proportionate information to verify your identity, but will not ask for unrelated materials. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law.
10. Children
Yesterbook is a general-audience journal and is not directed specifically to children under 14. We do not ask users to submit their age. Parents and guardians should guide minors according to their age and understanding, particularly around devices, iCloud, location, and photos. Contact us if you believe we received a child’s personal data through support by mistake.
11. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when features, data practices, or legal requirements change. We will provide notice through the product page, in-app messaging, or another appropriate channel when a change is material, and ask for consent when the law requires it. The date above identifies the current version.
